What general type of business is this? Independent Non-Profit Liaison to provide equitable access to whole person healthcare for individuals such as homeless, low-income, and or no-income while awaiting housing. Moreover providing needs to homeless and military veterans. Provide physical health, behavioral health, and health related social needs. Connecting individuals with primary care providers, and specialties. Providing resources for individuals who are in need of housing, transportation, health services, etc.
Consultant/Liaison – individuals who have healthcare requirements being connected with physicians, social workers, case managers, or any other providers who can meet those needs. It is possible to reduce the number of visits to emergency rooms as well as hospital admissions by linking vulnerable populations with providers. Because there is a division between physicians and patients in terms of patient-centered care, the vulnerable have chronic diseases that have not been treated or managed for years. The vision is to connect the vulnerable with a provider for better quality of care.
Transportation – American Hospital Association (aha.org) states, each year, 3.6 million people in the United States do not obtain medical care due to transportation issues. Transportation issues include lack of vehicle access, inadequate infrastructure, long distances, and lengthy times to reach needed services, transportation costs and adverse policies that affect travel. Transportation challenges affect homeless, low-income, no-income, and vulnerable communities.
Items for Homeless or anyone in need - Assisting a large number of people on any given day and requiring as many donations as is humanly possible in order to assist the most vulnerable members of the community. Items such as clothing, personal hygiene products, socks, coats, bottled water, hand sanitizers, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, hair combs and brushes, first aid kits, and bottled water. As the seasons progress, it will be necessary to update their wardrobe need accordingly.
Community Needs – Global1’s mission is to assist the needs of the community, shelters, providers, case managers, and social workers to provide resources and items for those at greater risk for poor health status and healthcare access, experience significant disparities in life expectancy, access and use of healthcare services, morbidity, and mortality. Assist children in need of school supplies, individual in need of clothes, food, personal hygiene, and other needs for families in the community. Financial donations,
new items, or used items in great condition are greatly appreciated and needed.
It is the goal of Global 1 to assist patients in securing a primary care physician and meeting other clinical requirements upon discharge from emergency rooms, inpatient hospitals, assisted living institutions, and skilled nursing facilities as part of the discharge team.
Veteran Needs – Provide resources for veterans who need housing, transportation, health services, etc. Directing care to the 1,298 health care facilities, Assist in scheduling appointments, and contacting VA to assist in transportation to services. Global 1 supports National Veterans’ Outreach Organization (https://www.asbestos.com/veterans/) Veteran Affairs prefer the veterans to call and schedule the appointment themselves, however; Global 1 will assist in calling the VA to initiate the appointments and/or provide information.
Global 1 has a contract with Certified Languages International (CLI). CLI is HIPAA compliant. CLI provides comprehensive translation services (including transcription, Braille, desktop publishing, typesetting, and website localization). CLI is available for Global 1 Management Medical Group 24/7.
